VERMILLION COUNTY TO OFFER PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNT CARD TO ALL COUNTY RESIDENTS

(Newport, IN) The Vermillion County Commissioners introduced the Vermillion County Prescription Drug Discount Card, which will be provided free of charge to all Vermillion County residents through a partnership with ProAct Inc.

The cards will provide users with savings between 10 to 15 percent, depending on the medication and the brand. While the program will be of most benefit to residents lacking prescription drug insurance, all county resident are eligible to participate regardless of age or income. The card can also be used for discounts on medication for pets.

The Commissioners are glad to provide access to this new discount card that will expand services, with opportunities for vision services, LASIK services, hearing aid services, and other services. The services may also include access to dental insurance services, and residents are encouraged to contact ProAct, Inc. for more information.

Over the next couple weeks, ProAct, Inc. will mail Prescription Drug Discount Cards to Vermillion County residents. The card offers county residents a hassle-free way to save money on prescription drugs. There are no enrollment forms to fill out, no membership fees and no income requirements. Users need only to present the card contained inside the mailer to their pharmacy along with a new prescription or refill in order to receive savings. The discount can be used at any pharmacy in the area and at over 56,000 pharmacies nationwide.

Over 1.8 million prescriptions have been filled using this program with a savings of over $51 million dollars to participating county residents.
