Seniors and Law Enforcement Officials Making A Difference Together
Description: The TRIAD is a program initiated by local law enforcement and endorsed by the Indiana Attorney Generals office. This is a program that adapts to serve the needs of the elderly within the county. It is our hope that through the TRIAD program we will not only increase the service to our elderly population but also increase the quality of life for those that live within our county.
|
Current Programs:
We currently have two active TRIAD programs within the county:
-Pill Drops
This is a program that allows any person to dispose of unwanted or out of date medication. (This is includes prescription and over-the-counter drugs as well.) It is our hope that by providing a service to dispose of medication properly it will reduce the chance of victimization of our elderly population along with the general population, as well as reduce the theft and abuse of prescription drugs.
-Senior Wellness Checks
This is a program that will allow seniors who live by themselves to sign up to receive weekly phone calls and or visits From a TRIAD volunteer. During these check-ups it is our hope that we will be able to provide extra security to our elderly population and better meet their needs. If you would like to sign up for this program please contact the Vermillion County Sheriff's Department.
Just a reminder:
All TRIAD volunteers will be issued a picture ID card. We encourage you to ask to see this ID and their drivers license before allowing anyone to enter your home.
