Homeowner Interest Form
Vermillion County is preparing to apply for funding from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to establish an Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program. This initiative aims to assist eligible homeowners with critical home repairs and upgrades to enhance safety, energy efficiency, accessibility, and overall living conditions.
If you are a homeowner in Vermillion County and are interested in potential assistance through this program, please complete this form to be added to our interest list. Those on this list will be the first contacted when the application process begins.
Program Highlights:
- Rehabilitation activities will focus on roof repair/replacement, HVAC system updates, water heater repair/replacement, and exterior ADA accessibility improvements.
- Priority will be given to seniors (65+), veterans, single parents, and individuals with disabilities.
- Assistance will be available to households meeting income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
- Radon testing is required for all homes considered for assistance. If radon is detected, remediation will be included in the rehabilitation activities.
Contractor Interest Form
Each eligible home may receive up to $25,000 in funding for improvements. Qualifying work for contractors includes:
- Radon remediation
- Repair or replacement of HVAC systems
- Water heater repair or replacement
- Roof repair or replacement
- Exterior accessibility improvements (e.g., ramps and handrails)
Contractors interested in performing any of the activities listed above are encouraged to submit an interest form.
