STEP 1: Soil Sample Test- Galen Littwiller 217-898-3946 (approx. $400.00) STEP2: Once you receive your soil results call the Vermillion County Health Department at 765-832-3622. The Vermillion County Health Department is located at 700 S Main Street, Clinton; IN 47842 please call to set up an appointment. They will issue you your septic permit ($75.00) based on the number of bedrooms. STEP 3:Bring your septic permit and paper work from the Health Department along with a set of floor plans to the Zoning Office, the building permit for a new home is $135. The Zoning office is located on the second floor of the Vermillion County Courthouse in Room 205. Please call before you make a trip to Newport as my office is a one-person office and I want to be sure to be there to serve you.
